According to Balkan Insight, they related to three days of national mourning for the victims of floods that have hit the country.
The RRA says that it did not advise cable operators in Serbia to shut down foreign broadcasts during the three days.
Instead, it asked radio and TV broadcasters to “align programmes with the Law on National Mourning”, tailoring their broadcasts appropriately.
Although SBB has now apologized to its subscribers, another cable operator – IKOM – has yet to resume broadcasting foreign channels.
The Serbian journalists’ association UNS believes cable subscribers may be entitled to compensation for the channels they have been unable to receive.
