May 20, 2014 11.55 Europe/London By by Robert Briel at ANGA COM 2014

S3 Group, has been selected by Nagra to automate testing of its OpenTV 5 STB middleware and guide solutions deployed with pay-TV service providers on a worldwide basis.

Nagra will use S3 Group’s leading video test automation platform, StormTest(R) Development Center, to enable the company to scale globally to meet market demand for its products, achieve ongoing quality assurance, improve responsiveness, and accelerate turnaround times.

Nagra’s OpenTV middleware solutions provide the core operating software for STBs and gateways, with a complete feature set for digital TV. Nagra’s guide solutions provide universal interfaces that integrate traditional broadcast TV with locally stored media, internet media and on demand content.

“After a thorough evaluation, we decided on S3 Group’s StormTest Development Center as the solution that best meets our requirements,” said Mervin Zhang, Head of Solutions Engineering R&D, Nagra.

“StormTest Development Center allows us to rapidly create and execute tests for our STB middleware and guide solutions, resulting in increased productivity and quicker ROI.”

It enables testing to scale to improve throughput, meet release deadlines and improve the reliability of services.”
