Ten Dutch regional public broadcasters have launched a single app called Regio TV for all Philips smart TVs.
The app gives access to live streams of the channels as well as to their on-demand libray. The app is available on all Philips smart TVs from TPVision and was developed by 24i.
The ten regional broadcasters taking part in the app are Omroep Flevoland, Omroep Brabant, RTV Oost, RTV Utrecht, Omrop Fryslân, RTV Rijnmond, RTV Noord-Holland, Omroep Gelderland, RTV Drenthe, and RTV Noord.
There is also a new app fro Romania, called: 220.ro, which is available on all devices 2k12 and up.
Philipos also said that the Netflix app is only available on the company’s 6000 series TVs and up, from 2013 and onwards.
Earlier model TVs will not be able to support the Netflix app hardware requirements, so will not have this app available.
