German sports channel Sport1 will show the ADAC Zurich 24 hour race live and exclusive on German television until 2016.
The Munich-based broadcaster secured the rights for TV, internet and mobile TV from Wige Media covering Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
This year, the race will take place June 19-22 on the Nürburgring. Sport1 will show more than 15 hours of the event live on its free-to-air channel. On the internet, motor sports fans will be able to watch the full 24 hour race free of charge as a live-stream.
“We are happy to be able to continue our existing partnership with Sport1 and thereby secure broad coverage through different platforms,” said Matthias Wurm, the executive responsible for the race at Wige Media. “We will set up a high-quality TV production with more than 30 cameras around the racing track, two helicopters and several live on-board cameras.”
