RGB’s four themed discussions

May 9, 2014 11.03 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

RGB Networks will be present at this year’s ANGA COM to discuss latest innovations, cost-effective delivery of services, monetisation strategies and standard compliance.

In the case of latest innovations, it will examine how its new CloudXtream initiative – built on the infinitely scalable industry standard OpenStack framework – facilitates and accelerates the deployment of essential revenue generating services such as Ad Insertion for Multiscreen (AIM) and network DVR.

In cost-effective delivery of services, it will show how VSPs can save on high storage costs, reduce network bandwidth and future-proof on-demand multiscreen deployments by using RGB’s Video Multiprocessing Gateway (VMG) Gen 2, which offers high-density transcoding without compromising on video quality.

Meanwhile, in monetisation strategies, it will examine how VSPs can enable hyper-targeted advertising right down to the neighbourhood, device or even individual subscriber can help VSPs establish a sustainable, income-generating IP-video service.

Finally, in the case of standard compliance, why the abundance of delivery protocols and lingering content rights management issues, mean that operators need flexible, high-performance transcoders to seamlessly convert between codecs, without impacting on quality.
