Sweden is seeing the beginnings of a revolution in TV viewing. Already this year linear TV is down by 5%, while the streaming of content is becoming increasingly popular.
Consultancy Media Vision says that in the first quarter 825,000 households were paying for subscriptions of streaming services over the internet.
Leading the pack is Netflix followed by Viaplay, while HBO is in third place. The streaming market is estimated to be work one billion Kronar.
According to Media Vision 600,000 Swedish households are paying to watching movies and TV shows through Netflix.
According to Media Vision one in five households today for at least one service with streaming video. Media Vision also predicts that the ceiling for Netflix has not yet been reached.
