Chello Central Europe (CCE) has announced that Evzen Chlanda has been named country manager Czech Republic & Slovakia as of June 1.
Chlanda will be responsible for managing operations, developing business and increasing profitability for CCE in the two territories, where 11 of its channels reach a combined total of over 8.5 million households.
He will be based in CCE’s Prague office and report to Balazs Hajos, CCE director of affiliate sales.
Chlanda joins CCE from Telefonica Czech Republic, where he spent eight years. At Telefonica, he was responsible for the consumer and later the entire business product portfolio, and served director of product and services between 2010-2012. From 2013, he was director of demand management at Telefonica.
Prior to Telefonica, Chlanda was at UPC Czech Republic, where he served as the director of UPC Direct and supervised the operation and sales management for the entire service.
Commenting on the appointment, Levente Málnay, CEO of CCE, said: “naming Evzen Country manager for Chello Central Europe allows us to take advantage of his long history and convincing expertise in the cable operator and telecommunications segment”.
Chlanda will replace Ales Fabik, who will retire on June 30.
He joined CCE as country manager in 2008.
Fabik was programming director of HBO in the Czech Republic and Slovakia from 1994-2001, following on from which he took a leading role in the introduction and distribution of Minimax channels, starting from 2005.
