Germany’s largest cable operator Kabel Deutschland will add more than 60 cities to its public Wi-Fi network in the next weeks.
Internet users will then be able to surf the net with their smartphones, tablets and laptops in a total of over 60 cities through the cable company’s Wi-Fi hotspots. The new locations which will be added by the end of June 2014 include Görlitz, Ludwigshafen, Lüneburg, Schwerin and the Timmendorfer beach.
The hotspots are situated on public squares and other highly frequented locations. In total, Kabel Deutschland operates more than 300,000 Wi-Fi hotspots.
Usage is free for 30 minutes per day. For unlimited access, internet and telephony customers of Kabel Deutschland can sign up for a hotspot flat-rate which – depending on their tariff – costs €4.99 or €9.99 per month.
