Turkey’s Cukurova Holding is in direct talks with a couple of companies, one of which is foreign, to sell the pay-TV platform Digitürk.
However, quoted by Hurriyet, Sakir Ercan Gül, the head of the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF), added that should these talks fail a tender process would be held.
Gül added that the TMSF, which seized control of Digitürk in May last year due to Cukurova Holdings’ financial difficulties, was itself not involved in the negotiations.
Cukurova Holding currently owns 53% of Digitürk, with the remaining stake being held by Providence Equity Partners.
Interest in Digitürk has already been shown by a number companies including its main competitor D-smart and Türk Telekom.
