English Club TV enters Lebanon

April 11, 2014 10.22 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

ECTV Network Ltd and Digidata have signed an agreement to bring English Club TV to TV and mobile audiences in Lebanon.

As a result, the channel is now available through the IPTV-Multi-Screen System (TV, mobile, tablet and PC), as well as VOD services, in the country.

Commenting on the development, Andrew Semchenko, CEO of English Club TV Group, said: “English is increasingly used in science and business interactions in Lebanon. English is also used as a second language in 30% of Lebanon’s secondary schools. We can see that the demand for quality English language education is accelerating in Lebanon.

“Using the innovative educational content available from the English Club TV channel, together with Digidata we are creating unique and easily accessible environment for those who want to start learning or improve their English in Lebanon in innovative and exciting way”.

Eng. Saad Al Jamal, CEO of Digidata LEB, added: “Lebanese people are known for their business skills. That fact along with modern globalization and international business exchange forces us to have strong language skills, for our generation and more particularly for the generations to come. Children receive their education not only from their parents and their schools but educational TV also has an influential role in developing their minds and improving their foreign language skills.

“For those reasons, we are pleased and very optimistic in our cooperation with the English Club TV channel to develop and improve our new generation with the international business language”.
