Dean Palmer joins Peacock Productions

April 9, 2014 07.23 Europe/London By Robert Briel

MIPTV 2014 – CANNES. NBC News’ Peacock Productions has announced that Dean Palmer will join NBC News as director of development in Peacock Productions’ UK headquarters.

In this newly created position, Palmer will be responsible for original programming, series and format development for Peacock Productions’ international division, based out of the UK. He will report to UK managing director Steve Anderson.

“Dean brings a proven track record and skills that are complimentary to Steve’s,” said Sharon Scott, president and general manager Peacock Productions.

“Together, they will be highly effective in growing Peacock Productions’ business globally and we’re thrilled to have Dean on board.”

Prior to Peacock Productions, Palmer was a freelance executive producer who has worked for the BBC Vision, ITV, Channel 4, CBC, Sony Pictures International, Vera, XIX Entertainment, Caledonia TV, Dragonfly, and Nutopia.

“We are delighted that Dean is bringing his experience in factual entertainment to Peacock Productions to further broaden our portfolio,” said Steve Anderson, managing director of Peacock Productions UK.

“Following the strong performance of the Amanda Knox film on the BBC, our first international production, we are looking forward to the debut of several high-profile news-making documentaries both here and in the U.S.”
