Eurocinema launches online VOD platform in US

eurocinemaMIPTV 2014 – CANNES. Eurocinema, North American’s only VOD channel dedicated to European cinema, has expanded its reach with the launch of its online, on demand consumer platform, eurocinema.com.

Currently offered on-demand to over 36 million homes on cable and IPTV, including such major distributors including Comcast, Charter, Cablevision, Verizon, Bresnan and Blue Ridge, Eurocinema features a library of European film titles and is now available online, on demand at eurocinema.com.

“Eurocinema has been delivering the very best in European filmmaking to US television viewers since 2007,” commented company president/ceo, Sebastien Perioche.

“We’re excited about the launch of our online, on demand service that will now allow an entire new audience of cinema fans to enjoy our amazing collection of movies, any time and anywhere at eurocinema.com.”

Euro films are available at prices ranging from $2.99 to $5.99 for a 48 hour viewing period. Free European entertainment and lifestyle content provided by French 24 and Euronews is also accessible at the same portal. The company plans to expand the online service to other countries in the near future.

To celebrate the launch, Eurocinema will debut day and date with the world theatrical premiere, online and on TV, of the new romantic German/French language film Go With Le Flo, also an official selection of the upcoming Beijing International Film Festival.

Other notable film available at launch are from Austria, The Paradise Trilogy by writer/director Ulrich Siedl; Danish thriller Terribly Happy, winner of 19 film prizes; the 2012 Cannes Grand Prix winner Reality from Italy, and the award-winning historical melodrama Baaria by Cinema Paradiso director Guiseppe Tornatore.
