Internet TV platform Zattoo will shortly commence distributing the free-to-air channels of German commercial TV group ProSiebenSat.1 as OTT live-streams.
Following the agreement with streaming provider Magine, the collaboration with Zattoo would be the next logical step, ProSiebenSat.1 board member Conrad Albert told newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
The agreement covers Sat.1, ProSieben, kabel eins, sixx, Sat.1 Gold and ProSieben Maxx. Viewers will be able to watch the channels at home through the internet and WiFi and on the go on mobile networks in Germany.
Like the agreement with competing commercial TV group Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland, the live-streams of the ProSiebenSat.1 channels will not be free of charge, but part of subscription package HiQ available from €3.75 per month.
The live-streams of German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF, smaller commercial channels and foreign channels remain free of charge.
