The Czech incumbent Telefónica has launched a new on online demand service.
Known as O2 Videotéka, it offers movies for a period of 24 hours, with new titles costing CZK55 (€2) and older ones CZK30, sourced both locally and from such majors as The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros, Sony Pictures Television International and Universal studios International.
O2 Videotéka can be received on PCs, laptops and Samsung TVs, and in due course will also be available on tablets and smartphones, with around 30 new titles added to the line-up each month.
It will compete directly with such services as Topfun, Voyo and Ivio and be accessible to all viewers, not just subscriber’s of the telco’s IPTV offer O2 TV.
