BT Sport has confirmed that it will join Google’s Chromecast from Monday. It will sit alongside the only other UK content partner so far confirmed, the BBC iPlayer.
YouTube and Netflix, plus Google Play Movies and Google Play Music are also available.
BT customers, and others, who the freemium channel will use the BT App from their tablet or smartphone to stream the channel to their TV via the Google dongle.
Pete Oliver, managing director, Consumer Commercial and Marketing, said: “Chromecast has been a tremendous success in the US and we feel it could take off in the UK as well.
“We are already delivering BT Sport via our App and we are seeing some impressive viewing figures, which demonstrates that customers appreciate this option.
From April 7 the ‘cast’ button will appear in the BT Sport app on Android and iOS devices.
