Over 60% of homes that receive subscription TV in Hungary now opt for digital TV services.
Data published by the regulator NMHH shows that the country ended February with an estimated 3,432,000 TV subscriptions, of which 2,069,186 (60.3%) were digital.
The total number of cable and IPTV subscriptions, based on the nine leading players, was 2,018,7832, with the majority (1,029,433) being analogue.
Wireless (DTH and HDig) subscriptions stood at 917,811, while the pay-DTT service MinDig TV Extra had 121,942 subscribers.
UPC was the leading provider of subscription TV services irrespective of technology, with a market share of 26.2%.
Its closest competitors were Magyar Telekom (24%) and Digi (22.9%).
