The Lithuanian incumbent TEO has added LRT HD to its smart TV offer.
As a result, TEO smart TV users can now watch a total of seven HD channels, namely LRT HD, NBA HD TV, iConcerts HD, Eurosport HD, Discovery HD Showcase, National Geographic Channel HD, History HD and 3D channel 3flow.
Over the next few months, LRT HD will offer coverage of such events as the Eurovision Song Contest and World Cup in Brazil.
LRT HD is operated by Lithuania’s public broadcaster and made its debut earlier this year, prior to which HD programmes produced by LRT used to be rebroadcast by TEO on specially created channel.
According to TEO, its smart TV service currently has 106,000 customers.
The company also notes that HD and 3D services are becoming increasingly popular among its customers.
Data shows that their popularity increased by 73% in the year to the end of February 2014.
