Norigin Media takes Boxer everywhere

March 17, 2014 09.36 Europe/London By Robert Briel

Boxer Robert with CardsNorigin Media has licenced its multi-screen hybrid apps solution in Sweden and Denmark to Boxer TV.

The new TV Everywhere client apps will extend the current Boxer TV service to mobiles, tablets, PCs and Macs to deliver OTT TV and video content to customers across Scandinavia.

As part of Teracom Group, which owns and operates DTT networks with pay TV services across Sweden and Denmark, Boxer TV currently offers over 50 live channels and a comprehensive video-on-demand catalogue to one million subscribing households in the region.

“Consumers in Europe are increasingly demanding TV Everywhere services and these types of services are clearly gaining momentum in Scandinavia. This partnership reflects the fast growth in demand for TVE Apps in the region,” said Roland Svensson, Director of Product at Teracom Group.

“We needed a flexible and fast time to market solution that provides top-of-the-line user experience. Norigin Media’s mature product and vast experience with major operators made them the natural partner choice to provide the ‘TV Everywhere’ experience for our subscribers.”

Ajey Anand, CCO, commented: “It is always good to be chosen within our home market and we are very proud to have entered into this partnership with Boxer TV. In this highly competitive environment Scandinavia is increasingly becoming a hub for innovative streaming TV services and the signing of this agreement will further strengthen our growing presence in the region. We have some ambitious plans for asserting our presence in the coming months as we look towards further expansion, and I am looking forward to these deployments in Scandinavia in 2014.”
