Mobistar has selected the integrated operational and business support system solution from Alpha Networks to support its upcoming cable TV and broadband services.
Mobistar’s new cable TV and broadband services are expected to be launched before the end of this year and will be amongst the first such services in Europe that rely on regulated cable networks. The operator, which is wholly owned by France Telecom, makes use of the Open Cable regulation, which gives Mobistar access to the cablenets of Telenet and Tecteo/VOO.
In this way, Mobistar will expand its consumer mobile business into television and broadband services. The selection of the IT solution partner is a major step towards the launch of the new convergent offerings.
Within the framework of its agreement with Mobistar, Alpha Networks will deploy its modular Alpha Network Services software suite and set-up the interfaces with the cable operators in terms of business systems as well as technical monitoring.
“The collaboration with Alpha Networks, will enable us to offer the consumers competitive cable TV and broadband services,” said Jean Marc Harion, CEO of Mobistar.
“The Alpha Networks solution simplifies the management of the customer life cycle independent on the underlying cable network and the control of our revenue streams in a cost-effective and scalable manner.”
“We are very pleased to have the opportunity to supply our technology to enable a large telecom operator access to a cable based TV and broadband service,” said Victor Badin, CEO of Alpha Networks.
“The flexibility of our platform gives Mobistar all the necessary tools to manage multiple cable networks provisioning from a single, simple solution that can leverage Mobistar’s existing infrastructure in a short time to market.”
