Ukraine’s leading cable operator Volia has issued a statement about its retransmission of Russian channels.
In it, it says that despite the National Council for Radio and Television’s failure to reach a unanimous agreement on the distribution of Rossiya 24, Channel One, ORT (Worldwide Network), RTR Planeta and NTV-Mir, it has, on the basis of the results of a survey conducted among its subscribers, as well in response to a decision by the Council and parliament, to make adjustments to access to these channels.
They will no longer be available in analogue, being only offered in digital, with other channels, including Sun TV and Espreso TV, replacing them.
In Kiev, where analogue services are no longer available and Rossiya 24 not distributed, RTR, ORT and NTV-Mir will no longer be offered in the most popular social package ‘Light’.
Instead, they will be offered in digital pay packages and the Volia Smart HD interactive TV service.
