The Polish commercial broadcaster TV Puls has begun HbbTV tests on its two channels TV Puls and Puls 2, both of which are distributed on the country’s DTT network.
According to Hbbtv.pl, it is using an app that was produced by the same company that prepared several apps for the Manta DVB-T set-top box.
Commenting on the development, Pawel Tutka, an expert of hybrid and smart TV, said: “the start of HbbTV tests by TV Puls is a good sign for the future of interactive hybrid TV in Poland. I hope that soon the first HbbTV services with interactive features will appear on the channels TV Puls and Puls 2 and with it competition between TVP, Eska TV and TV Puls in providing viewers with interesting interactive services via DVB-T”.
