Deutsche Telekom’s Videoload comes to LG smart TVs

March 6, 2014 08.38 Europe/London By Robert Briel

videoloadMassive Interactive has announced that it has been working with Deutsche Telekom to expand its Videoload service in Germany.

Using the MassivisionT Multi-screen Development Kit (MDK), Massive integrated its multi-device core application to the Deutsche Telekom environment, enabling the delivery of a fully native LG TV application.

Gert von Manteuffel, VP product management TV & Video Deutsche Telekom, said: “We’ve chosen to work with Massive for their proven expertise in this field and their ability to manage both the technical complexity of connected TV systems and seamless integration with our legacy systems. They have been able to deliver a high quality solution within a short timeframe which has been extremely valuable to us.”

Massivision MDK, is a UI Toolkit, purpose-built for the development of multi-screen VOD, OTT and live TV applications for the large enterprise video service provider market. The MDK delivers native outputs for each device while benefiting from a ‘write once’ core application architecture that Massive has developed drawing on its years of experience and expertise. This brings advantages in enabling superior on-device performance, reducing ongoing operational expenditure, whilst scalable for emerging technologies and delivering against aggressive cross-platform roadmaps.

“We are proud to have launched our first application for Deutsche Telekom,” commented Ron Downey, CEO Massive Interactive Inc. “The Massivision™ MDK continues to prove successful in a trend where we see large established service providers now turning to smaller technology specialists who can deliver a rapid device rollout with efficiency.”

Deutsche Telekom is Massive’s first customer in Germany. Massive recently opened a second European office in Prague. This office mainly consists of an engineering team to support customers across the region, as well as becoming the hub office for the development of operations and business throughout Central Europe.
