Chello Zone inks Cyfrowy Polsat deal

February 24, 2014 10.40 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

CBS:Chellozone rebrandCBS Chello Zone has signed a multi-year agreement with the leading Polish DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat for the carriage renewal of CBS Europa, CBA Drama, CBS Action and CBS Reality.

Also renewed has been the carriage of Extreme Sports Channel, Chello Zone’s action sports and lifestyle network.

Furthermore, as part of the deal, Polsat Media will undertake the ad sales for all Chello Zone channels in Poland from March.

Commenting on the agreement, Louise Cottrell, VP Affiliate Sales for Chello Zone, said: “This deal supports our commitment to provide world-class content across our portfolio of six networks in the region, and helps us develop our content strategies in the long-term. Having just extended the carriage of CBS Europa in the market too, as announced last month, we look forward to premiering more new content in 2014 across the portfolio, which I’m sure will excite our advertisers as well as our viewers.”

Dominik Libicki, president of the management board of Cyfrowy Polsat, added: “Chello Zone’s channels have proved they are expected by Cyfrowy Polsat’s viewers, so we are very pleased with renewing our agreement and continuing to provide diversity across our platform.”

Stanislaw Janowski, MD of Polsat Media, said: “Six Chello Zone channels are an important addition to Polsat Media’s themed channel package. CBS Chello Zone is the latest international media group to join Polsat Media. I’m looking forward to our successful cooperation”.
