Applicaster has named FremantleMedia UK executive Peter Cassidy as its Vice President of Europe.
Cassidy will be the principal officer leading Applicaster’s activities in Europe, and sharing his experience with the company’s customers worldwide, equipping broadcasters, formats, and TV networks with the technology platform and tools to bring their TV programming on all screens.
As head of interactive at FremantleMedia UK, Peter has been responsible for all digital extensions around Fremantle’s shows in the UK, including hugely successful second screen apps, social media, Youtube channels and digital content production for shows such as The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent. Previously at FremantleMedia, Peter managed their international Participation TV business. Prior to joining FremantleMedia, Peter was head of telephone interactivity at RTL Netherlands.
“Peter is one of the few executives in the industry with the unique blend of expertise in content production, creative, and digital, and has led cross-disciplinary projects for leading global TV brands, such as FremantleMedia and RTL”, said Jonathan Laor, Applicaster’s CEO.
“We are excited to have him on board and harness his leadership and experience in TV, and interactive digital media to lead Applicaster’s expansion in Europe and to support our current customers worldwide in their new media journey”.
Cassidy will take up his new position at the beginning of April.
Applicaster works with the major commercial broadcasters and operators worldwide and supports them in their transition into the era of transmedia TV.
