Belgium’s Telenet is pulling the plug out of its DTT pay service Teletenne on March 31, the company has announced.
The operator quoted disappointing results of the servcice is the main reason for stopping it. All current customners will be reimburse €140.50, the costs of the DVB-T tuner (€129) and one month’s subscription fee (€11.50).
The move does not affect the free-to-air distribution of the three channels from public broadcaster VRT, Een, Canvas and Ketnet.
Telenet launched Teletenne in 2012 with a bouquet of 18 channels. The offer consists of most Belgian broadcasters, as well as the three main Dutch public channels, Nederland 1, Nederland 2 and Nederland 3, but four private channels from the VMMa were missing (VTM, 2BE, Vitaya and Jim).
The bouquet also offered Vijf TV, VT4, Acht, National Geographic, MTV, Kanaal Z, Nickelodeon, Njam, Studio 100TV and Ment TV.
