The dispute surrounding Russia’s Dohzd has taken a new twist, with cable operators now seeking to change the contractual terms with the controversial channel.
Quoted by Izvestia and the Russian Cable TV Association (AKTR), Mikhail Silin, VP of the AKTR, said pay-TV operators were not satisfied that Dohzd had paid Tricolor TV for carriage, whereas other platforms/operators had themselves had to pay for the right to distribute the channel.
Rostelecom, Akado, NTV-Plus, Beeline TV, Continent TV and ER Telecom took Dohzd off the air late last month after it had broadcast a controversial programme about the siege of Leningrad in the Second World War.
It is also due to be withdrawn by Tricolor TV on February 10 but continues to be carried by regional operators and can also be viewed online.
