Norwegian cablenet Get has revealed a new iOS app that it says presents a seamless experience across tablets, mobile and TV.
The new app, more commonly referred to as plain ‘multiscreen’, brings together linear channels with video on demand, archive, and web-based content services.
“Over the next eighteen months our customers will enjoy a seamless, feature-rich and highly personal TV experience. We will provide the same great Get experience on your tablet, smartphone and TV box and regardless of time and place. Our new app, the “Get TV” gives you a taste of the future,” says GET CEO Gunnar Evensen.
The interface gives a refresh to the established Cisco/NDS design deployed by the operator on its current range of services.
“Our new user interface is based on award-winning design principles from Cisco-owned DNS/Studio Design which we then have developed and customized to create a unique Get experience,” explains Evensen.
At launch the new app has 30 popular TV channels, movies and series from C More Play, a modern TV Guide with recording functionality on Get set-top-boxes, pause and rewind and the opportunity to create 10 personal profiles.
It is also possible to search for individual shows, actors and keywords as well as share recommendations through Facebook and Twitter.
