The number of Dutch TV homes that are able to receive digital TV signals has grown to 82%, according to SKO research.
The figure is up from 76% the previous year and is mainly due to the increasing number of people getting digital TV on cable, IPTV or glass fibre. Digital terrestrial reception is down from 11% to 9%.
Connected TVs are also on the rise with 17% of all homes claiming their TV set is wired to the internet (up from 11% in 2012). One in five homes now has a digital set-top box with built-in hard drive. The number of external DVD recorders with hard disks is down from 20% to 16%.
These figures are the result of the annual Media Standaard Survey 2013 (MSS), carried out by TNS-NIPO on behalf of SKO, the Dutch institute for audience research.
