Netia use apps on the Netia Player. Given its ease of use, along with the selection of apps, Netia believes the latter can indeed be called ‘smarter TV’.
In a blog, the telco contrasts this with a study by Pentagon Research Best Content that shows only 11% of smart TV owners in Poland access TV apps on their sets.
It adds that in the case of Netia Player, the most popular apps include those giving access to attractive on demand services such as HBO GO and tvn player, along with the music-based Tuba FM and MooD and the mostly text-based TVN Meteo.
Netia is becoming an increasingly important player in Poland’s pay-TV marketplace.
Its plans for this year include the introduction of network PVR, HbbTV and more on demand and TV for mobile services.
