OTT-streaming service Flipps has inked a distribution deal with Vuguru, the multimedia studio started by former Walt Disney CEO Michael Eisner.
Two of Vuguru’s flagship digital series will soon be available for Direct-to-TV streaming via Flipps, formerly iMediaShare. The two series are Prom Queen, which follows the lives of the students at fictional Edward Adams High; and Back on Topps, a satirical behind-the-scenes look into one of the world’s most recognisable sports brands.
Flipps is available for iOS and Android devices as a mobile app that delivers over-the-top video to smart TV’s over wireless internet networks. Viewers are be able to stream the Vuguru series from the Flipps mobile app to any of their connected TVs. Flipps supported devices include internet-connected televisions by Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, LG, and Philips, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Apple TV.
“Bringing online original programming to the connected home is a natural extension of the Flipps brand and Vuguru is a leader in the space. We’re excited to be the first to bring on-demand Vuguru series to the TV screen – making them available and easily accessible to millions of viewers,” said CEO of Flipps, Kosta Jordanov.
