Belgian DTH provider TV Vlaanderen is launching an interactive hybrid set-top box integrating satellite reception and broadband access.
The new device is called the Motionbox and offers consumers access to a new VOD service offering over 1,000 titles on-demand.
The box comes with a hard drive of 320GB and numerous apps, which integrate various social media en video portals on the screen including Facebook, Twitter Picasa, Flickr, and Dailymotion.
The box offers various modes of trick play and can be accessed via an app for Android and iOS which is available free of charge.
The Motionbox is available for rental at €7.95 a month. TV Vlaanderen is part of the M7 Group.
The company recently acquired Dutch broadband ISP Online from T-Mobile and could be planning a similar offer for the Netherlands.
