Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has confirmed that the Türksat 4A satellite will be launched with a proton rocket from Kazakhstan on February 15.
Speaking at a delivery ceremony of the satellite in Tokyo and quoted by Hurriyet, he added that there are also now plans to launch Türksat 4B in the second quarter after a test period.
Both satellites have been produced at the Mitsubishi Electronic Company’s satellite production centre in the Japanese capital.
4A will allow Türksat to offer telco and TV services in Turkey, Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa. 4B will meanwhile cover Africa.
