Over-the-top solutions provider Southern Cloud has released its app for OTT platform Cloudio TV on Samsung smart TVs.
The app is available as a free download, enabling Samsung connected TV owners access to a number of free and subscription OTT services including Indian broadcaster Sun TV’s and Vietnam’s VTC Ex Pat bouquets, as well as access to a number of free services.
Southern Cloud’s CEO David Vargas-Racero: “We are delighted to launch Cloudio TV on the many Samsung connected TVs and look forward to servicing subscribers through this ever-growing market. It’s a milestone on our technical roadmap and we are already working on several other Smart TV platforms and mobile and tablet devices.”
Cloudio TV’s content acquisition executive Wouter van Ruth added: “We’re pleased to offer our content through the Samsung smart TV market and look forward to increased distribution and sales as a result of this. We’re working hard on acquiring additional content and expect to announce several other subscription bundles in Q1.”
The app for Samung smart TVs comes in addition to Cloudio TV’s own proprietary set-top and its app on Roku boxes.
