A new cable-delivered station named TV Nova has made its debut in Serbia.
According to Balkan Insight, it is initially being distributed by Serbia Broadband (SBB).
TV Nova is wholly owned by the Nova.rs medija holding, which is in turn majority (85.1%) owned by the Dutch registered company BD Media Invest, itself owned by New Amsterdam Cititrust, in which Matthias Dietel has a 99% share.
The other shareholders in the station are the production company Vision team (7.9%), owned by Dragan Djurkovic, and GMG Media Group (7%), owned by Ulrich Brock.
The start-up costs of TV Nova are understood to be around €18 million.
The station tried to secure a national broadcasting frequency earlier this year but it was eventually set aside for testing digital signals.
