A+E Networks UK has launched a glossy magazine-style women’s website in conjunction with its new female-focussed entertainment channel, Lifetime.
Lifetimetv.co.uk aims “to be an entertaining and thought-provoking site that draws in a broad audience by going beyond the ‘traditional’ broadcaster offering. With a team of over 20 talented journalists, the website takes a fresh approach to writing about Lifetime’s award-winning programming: from engaging reviews; to tips on how to “get the look” of its lead characters; and exploring everything from recipes to the flirting revolution.”
The site was designed by Brand 42, using HTML 5 and parallax technologies. The unique scrolling EPG navigation enables users to view the programme guide from anywhere on the site. The site is developed in Drupal.
Caroline Casey, director of Digital Media at A+E Networks UK, said: “Our strategy for Lifetimetv.co.uk was to develop a beautiful, magazine-style site with excellent functionality and intelligent content that takes viewers beyond our TV channel. We’re delighted with the positive feedback so far from users and industry insiders.”
Adge Gittins, Creative Director of Brand42 added: “For Brand42, this was a once in a Lifetime opportunity to work on a dream project with the fantastic team at A+E Networks UK. We are already seeing great results from the Lifetime website and are excited about the forthcoming development of this project.”
