FOX International Channels (FIC) has announced that its flagship entertainment channel FOX will make its debut in Hungary in February 2014.
On air for 18 hours daily, it will be distributed by Magyar Telekom and offer viewers FIC’s best-known global franchises and exclusive premieres of new series from 20th Century Fox Television Distribution.
Commenting on the launch, Carlos Ortega, FIC’s EVP of Central and Eastern Europe, said: “We’re thrilled to bring FOX and our slate of original, breakthrough and exclusive series to Hungarian fans.
“Our new audience will enjoy premieres of world-class entertainment content, and an impressive list of productions that will be scheduled and promoted to serve the needs of the local market. As with all our channels worldwide, it will localise an international brand, without losing its essence.”
FOX has launched in Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Greece, Russia, Belarus, Moldova, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, Norway, and the UK in the past year.
In Hungary, it will join a FIC portfolio that already includes National Geographic Channel and Nat Geo Wild.
