The Polish public broadcaster TVP is now prepared to vacate the slots it occupies on the country’s first DTT multiplex sooner than the deadline of April 27, 2014.
However, reports Wirtualne Media, it has set a number of preconditions.
A summit called by the Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) this Tuesday (December 10) to discuss TVP’s exit from the multiplex was attended by most stakeholders, the notable exceptions being Stopklatka TV, Eska TV and Polo TV.
TVP has offered to bring the date forward to mid-February 2014 providing it is reimbursed for the money it has invested in broadcasting on the multiplex up until April 27.
It also wants all the channels waiting to take over its slots on the multiplex at the same time.
This is likely to present problems for at least one (Stopklatka TV), which plans to start transmissions next April.
The UKE has yet to announce the results of its investigation into speeding up TVP’s exit from the multiplex.
