December 9, 2013 11.32 Europe/London By Robert Briel

itsme gamesMultithek, the HbbTV service from Germany’s Media Broadcast, is launching a games portal in partnership with itsmy.TV.

The games are free to use and include classic Solitaire, Chess and HD Sudoku, as well as many other games including My TV Quiz with overt 1,000 questions.

“Thanks to the Multithek TV viewers can easily access games from itsmy.TV on their home TV and enjoy them with their family,” said Sven Eckoldt, product manager business unit new media at Media Broadcast, “This will increase the diversity of multithek to a new level with attractive games and providing users with a premium TV service for free.”

Antonio Vince Staybl , CEO itsmy.TV, added : “Varied adventure and quiz games on smartTVs are the new trend. We have the opportunity to reach millions of viewers at home in the living room with games on the bid screen. Now it’s time to get out the remote control and play the games.”

And the Finnish chief developer of itsmy.TV, Jukka Saarelainen , added: “Smart TV games are in contrast to games on the smart phone truly ‘social’, this is a new common gaming experience.”
