Sky Italia has announced a series of technical innovations that will be introduced to On Demand and Sky Go in the run up to Christmas.
A Restart service has been introduced for those subscribers with a My Sky HD receiver – currently about half of the satcaster’s 4.7 million subscribers. Initially this will be available across Sky Cinema. Sky Link will connect the My Sky HD receiver to the internet – an innovation that sounds similar to the device currently offered by BSkyB in the UK.
A new mosaic-style EPG will be introduced for children. Mosaic for Kids will feature 27 channels.
New features are also being introduced for Sky Go. These include a function that will limit the use of bandwidth over 3G, through three consumption options and a double audio function that will enable users to choose to view both linear and on-demand content either in Italian or in the original language.
