A large number of churches in the Netherlands are launching a SmartTvAppStick (STAS) to people on their own TV set.
The HDMI stick will fit in any modern TV set and costs €69.95. The STAS comes with the special Kerkomroep Android app pre-installed and gives viewers direct access to live broadcasts of the churches.
All broadcasts are also available on the Kerkomroep.nl website for online viewing on computers.
The stick and online services are organised by sIKN, a company that has been broadcasting audio service from churches since 2001. sIKN started video broadcasts in 2009 and now serves around 1,000 churches across the country with internet-delivered audio and video webcasts.
