Netflix and NBCUniversal have announced a licensing agreement bringing feature films and previous seasons of TV shows from the studio to Canada and The Netherlands.
Satrting this year, the deal bring seasons from Suits, Heroes and Downton Abbey to suscribers in the Netherlands as well as all seasons from Battlestar Galactica. Next year, Bates Motel will be added. Mpvies include Knocked Up, The Big Lebowski, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, The 40-Year Old Virgin, Back to the Future I and II, The Chronicles of Riddick, and Happy Gilmore.
“We’re constantly working to fill our service with the best titles and we are sure that our Dutch subscribers will appreciate these latest additions,” said Kelly Merryman, Netflix’s VP of content acquisition in Europe.
Beginning on December 1, members in Canada will be able to enjoy the first two seasons of Downton Abbey, and seasons 1 and 2A of Suits, Bates Motel, Psych, Covert Affairs, Heroes and Friday Night Lights will also be available to Canadian Netflix members in 2014.
