The Spanish regulator CNMC has imposed fines totaling €15 million on Mediapro and four leading football teams for serious breaches related to the acquisition of audiovisual rights.
In a statement, the CMT says that signing of rights to Liga and Copa del Rey, except the final, for a duration of more than three seasons was a breach of the CNC council resolution of April 10, 2010 and a serious breach of Law 15/2007.
Mediapro will now be required to pay €6.573 million, Real Madrid €3.9 million, Barcelona €3.6 million, Seville €900,000 and Real Santander €30,000.
