Fox International Channels Europe & Africa has appointed Kelly Butler as SVP FOX Sports Europe & Africa.
The former CEO of Setanta Africa joins FIC Europe & Africa’s executive staff following the company’s acquisition of Setanta Africa, which was approved by the Irish Competition Authority on November 6, 2013.
With years of experience in satellite, cable, broadcast television and new media, Kelly, who will be based in London, brings a wealth of knowledge to FIC’s sports programming activities. Prior to that, Kelly has held numerous high-profile posts, including Head of Programming at Setanta Sports, CEO of Setanta Sports Channel in North America, and Consultant for the North American Sports Network (NASN).
Before joining Setanta Sports, Kelly was SVP/general manager of programming at ESPN STAR Sports in Singapore, where she was responsible for the content of five satellite/cable sports channels throughout Asia; Head of Sport at Asian satellite television Star TV, in Hong Kong; and International Programme Manager at the American regional sports network Prime Network, formerly owned by Liberty Media.
