The leading Turkish pay-TV operator Digitürk has signed two licensing agreements with Motive Television Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the London-based technology provider Motive Television.
Both are initially valid for a year and renew automatically unless terminated or cancelled.
The first agreement allows Digitürk to use the Head-end and Software Development Kit (SDK) in Turkey, though not to sublicence it to third parties.
The second is an annual Service Level Agreement (SLA) between the two parties.
These are the first direct agreements between Motive and Digitürk and do not effect a five-year software licensing deal between Motive Services and Sagecom Broadband SAS, announced in November 2012, under which Motive continues to use a licence fee for each set-top box manufactured by Sagecom for use by Digitürk in Turkey.
In a separate development, Digitürk has added the channel Dizimax Sci-Fi HD to its offer.
A brand new service offering science fiction and fantasy series, it began broadcasting on channels Digitürk 2 and 302 on October 28 and will be available for free to all viewers via Digitürk 1 for one month.
Series from Dizimax Sci-Fi HD are also being shown on demand and on multiscreen devices as part of the Digitürk Everywhere service.
