Following years of acquisitions, Hrvatksi Telekom (T-HT) is on the verge of selling the infrastructure part of its business.
According to Poslovni, the Croatian incumbent has reached an agreement with Ericsson Nikola Tesla (EKT), with now only a final fee to be agreed.
Under the terms of any deal, T-HT would continue to use the infrastructure, though it would be owned by EKT.
T-HT had initially planned to separate its telecom and infrastructure into two separate businesses but then decided to sell the latter.
After talks with EKT, Nokia Siemens Networls and Huawei, it decided to settle on EKT.
The sale should ease T-HT’s financial difficulties. Furthermore, and despite these, it still remains in the pole position to buy its Slovenian counterpart Telekom Slovenije.
