Vladimir Zelezny is to become the new CEO of the Czech national commercial station TV Barrandov on November 1.
The news has been widely reported in the local media and was today (August 24) confirmed by Petra Hrosova, TV Barrandov’s spokesperson.
Zelezny is one of the best-known figures in the Czech TV industry, having jointly launched TV Nova in the early 1990s and then headed the station for a few years before falling out with its owners CME.
He subsequently went into politics and was more recently a minority shareholder in Digital Broadcasting, the operator of the Czech Republic’s fourth DTT multiplex, before selling his stake late last year.
TV Barrandov was launched in 2009 and quickly established itself as one of the leading TV stations in the country.
