Netia, Poland’s largest alternative fixed-line telecommunications provider, is to deploy ARRIS CMTS and HFC solutions as it looks to expand its TV offer.
ARRIS C4 CMTS and ARRIS HFC headend optics, Vector optical nodes, and amplifiers will be integrated by Vector, the local reseller for Arris in the Polish market.
“We required a flexible and scalable solution that could be deployed today,” said Miroslaw Suszek, Netia’s COO. “Our investment in network solutions from ARRIS not only supports the demands of our network transformation project, but also prepares our cable network for tomorrow’s services.”
“Netia is a leader in the delivery of video services to Poland, a region that’s experiencing unprecedented demand for high-quality video content across all delivery mediums,” added Steve McCaffery, senior VP, EMEA, ARRIS. “With our select network solutions, Netia can cost-effectively manage its current network transition while keeping an eye on the future.”
Janusz Kilon, business unit director at Vector, added: “We are pleased with the fact that Netia has selected our company to redevelop the network.
“I am convinced that the solutions we implement will not only help Netia increase the efficiency of the network but also expand the base of loyal subscribers”.
Netia has over 100,000 TV subscribers, having almost doubled the number in the year to June 2013. It also has TV over the former Aster networks it acquired from UPC Polska.
