Dailymotion has announced a new subsidiary in Japan: Dailymotion Japan KK and moved to Tokyo with his first employees.
With over 11 million unique visitors per month, Japan is Dailymotion’s third largest market behind France and the US with such a strong audience growth in mobile in 2013.
With its new offices in Tokyo, the new team aims to develop partnerships with local content publishers and advertisers, the market for online advertising experiencing significant growth in Japan.
“Japan is a priority market for us with an already strong audience, especially via smartphones,” said Cédric Tournay , CEO of Dailymotion.
“It is the logical next step for Dailymotion to consolidate its presence with a dedicated subsidiary in Japan that will be able to develop new networks and address other local issues.”
With 120 million unique visitors and 2.5 billion video views per month, Dailymotion is the best watched European site in all categories according to comScore (August 2013).
