The Bulgarian government is to spend an additional BGN1 million (€511,000) on commercials about digital switchover despite the process having been completed at the end of September.
Novinite reports that the new campaign will only involve the print media and specifically five regional titles and six national weeklies, which are mostly read by people on lower incomes, retirees and disabled, most affected negatively by the switchover.
Bulgaria switched off its analogue TV signals with around 100,000 people, mostly in rural areas, still unable to receive digital broadcasts.
The original advertising campaign cost BGN17.5 million, excluding VAT.
