The VideoWeb TV set-top box now offers the new Zattoo App 2.0 allowing for HD live streaming on any broadband connection in Germany.
When connected to a smart TV, the VideoWeb set-top streams directly to the TV set and is, according to the manufacturer, an ideal solution for people who do not have access to the DTT broadcasts of RTL or who have just an analogue connection.
Zattoo is the Swiss supplier of streaming love channels over the internet. The company claims one million users in Germany.
The VideoWeb set-top also offers Red Button access to more than 120 apps including the catch-up and on-demand services from German pubic broadcasters, the so-called Mediatheken.
Zattooo offers live streaming of more than 60 TV channels in Germany, and over 130 in Switzerland (of which 33 are in HD). This includes all German private broadcasters, Das Erste, ZDF, Arte, KiKA, 3sat, Phoenix, BR, NDR, SWR, WDR, ZDFinfo, ZDFneo, ZDFkultur, as well as all channels from the RTL Deutschland group, RTL, Vox, n-tv, RTL Nitro, Suprt RTL and RTL II.
Also available are international broadcasters and thematic channels such as Sport1, Das Vierte, iMusic, CNN, and Bloomberg.
